Microneedling

Also known as Collagen induction therapy (CIT). This procedure involves puncturing the skin with tiny needles to give a controlled injury to the skin. These actions encourage the skin to renew, resulting in the skin becoming firmer, resurfaced, and overall improvement of skin texture and scarring.

Pre-treatment one week beforehand:
Discontinue the use of topical creams one week before treatment.
Avoid waxing.
Avoid laser hair removal.
Avoid electrolysis hair removal creams.
Avoid sunbeds.
Do not have dermal filler or anti-wrinkle injections two week prior to treatment.
Day of treatment do not use facial cream or makeup.

Procedure:
10-20 minutes
Numbing cream can be applied if required.
Minimal discomfort

Allergy to lidocaine
Prone to keloid scarring
Actinic keratosis
Active herpes simplex
Active bacterial or fungal infection
Diabetes
Collagen vascular disease
Cardiac abnormalities
Pregnant or breast feeding
Chemotherapy or radiotherapy within past 12 months
Psoriasis (precautions taken to not treat actively inflamed areas)

Aftercare 72hrs:
Avoid touching treated area
Wear a high SPF sun cream
Avoid direct sunlight/ heat
Avoid using any creams.
Avoid makeup.
